Steelers, Joey Porter Jr. remain in extension negotiations

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue discussions regarding a contract extension for cornerback Joey Porter Jr. as of June 24, 2026. While the team secured long-term deals for two other 2023 draft picks, Porter has not yet agreed on terms despite his standout performance last season, where he did not allow a touchdown against opposing receivers. Reports indicate that while the Steelers have not dismissed the idea of extending Porter, a financial agreement has yet to be reached, with expectations he could command $20-25 million per season. The Steelers are set to report to training camp at St. Vincent College on July 28, where negotiations may intensify ahead of the upcoming season.
