Steelers restructure DK Metcalf's contract to create salary cap space

The Pittsburgh Steelers have restructured DK Metcalf’s contract, converting part of his base salary into a signing bonus. This move creates nearly $18 million in salary cap space for 2026. Metcalf, who joined the Steelers in March 2025 from Seattle, signed a four-year, $132 million extension. His performance last season included 850 receiving yards and six touchdowns. The Steelers, who have also added veteran receiver Michael Pittman Jr. and rookie Germie Bernard, opted not to void guaranteed portions of Metcalf’s contract despite concerns raised last season.
