Steelers sign defensive back Car'lin Vigers to the practice squad

The Pittsburgh Steelers added three players to their practice squad on September 1, 2026, including defensive back Car'lin Vigers. Vigers previously spent time with the Washington Commanders after joining the team as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL Draft. During his collegiate career at Louisiana-Monroe from 2022 to 2024, he recorded 131 tackles, two interceptions, and six passes defended. While he has yet to make an official NFL regular season appearance, Vigers played in preseason matchups for the Commanders in 2025 and 2026. Alongside the addition of Vigers, the Steelers also signed wide receiver Brandon Johnson and outside linebacker Bradyn Swinson to the practice squad. These signings come as the organization works to finalize its roster ahead of the regular season opener.
