Steelers sign safety Brandon Hill, release Joaquin Davis

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced the signing of safety Brandon Hill to a one-year contract on August 25, 2026. In a corresponding move, the team released wide receiver Joaquin Davis. Hill previously played at the University of Pittsburgh and was drafted by the Houston Texans in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft. After a brief stint on the Texans' practice squad, he had short tenures with the Las Vegas Raiders, Denver Broncos, and Chicago Bears. The Steelers have made multiple adjustments at safety recently, including the release of Darnell Savage.
