Stephen A. Smith disputes podcast interview handling with Cari Champion and Jemele Hill

Stephen A. Smith engaged in a three-hour discussion with Cari Champion and Jemele Hill for their Flagrant and Funny podcast this week. Following the recording, Smith expressed dissatisfaction with the production, citing concerns that he was promised an unedited version of the interview. He requested the release of the raw footage and the reopening of the YouTube comment section, which had been disabled by the hosts. Champion and Hill’s team attributed the edit to a production error and stated the comments were closed due to abusive, threatening user behavior. Champion later addressed the situation in a video statement, acknowledging Smith’s participation while responding to his demand for a formal expression of gratitude. The public exchange marks an escalation of a months-long disagreement between the three former colleagues.
