Stephen Fleming is reportedly the leading contender to become England's new Test coach following interviews conducted by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). This consideration arose after Brendon McCullum departed amid a poor performance, highlighted by a 4-1 Ashes series defeat. Fleming has a significant coaching background, including stints with the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL and a prior connection with former England captain Ben Stokes. He is expected to address the need for a new red-ball captain after Stokes' recent retirement. Fleming's appointment could mark a new direction for an England team currently without a series win in over a year.
