Stephen Welsh has been named in Scotland's 28-man squad for the upcoming fixtures. The former Celtic defender, who ended a 20-year association with the club earlier this summer, is one of five players earning their first senior call-up. Welsh, now with Swansea City, has started all seven matches this season, contributing to Swansea's rise to second in the Championship. This selection comes under new Scotland boss Sebastien Pocognoli, following the resignation of Steve Clarke. Colby Donovan, another player representing Celtic, also received his first call-up.
