Steve Belichick has been placed on medical leave from his role as defensive coordinator for the University of North Carolina football team, as announced by his father, Bill Belichick. The elder Belichick stated that while he looks forward to his son's return, he cannot provide a timetable due to the nature of the medical issue. Last season, Steve oversaw a solid defensive performance, with the team ranking 25th nationally in yards allowed per play.
