Steve Mix's brief stint with Lakers highlighted in jersey history

Steve Mix, who was a fifth-round pick by the Detroit Pistons in 1969, joined the Los Angeles Lakers late in the 1982-83 season after being waived by the Milwaukee Bucks. Mix played one regular-season game, scoring nine points, and appeared in eight postseason games with a playoff average of 0.9 points in 3.3 minutes. His time with the Lakers coincided with the team being swept in the NBA Finals by his former team, the Philadelphia 76ers. Mix concluded his career with averages of 10.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in regular-season play over his NBA tenure.
