In response, Simmons questioned Ferris's assertions, arguing that Marner received ample support and was ultimately responsible for his playoff shortcomings. Marner, who finished his time in Toronto with 741 points in 657 regular-season games, has since found success with the Vegas Golden Knights, where he recorded 80 points in his first season and led the playoffs with 29 points.
