Steven Alexis decommits from Colorado, commits to Illinois

Steven Alexis, a three-star running back from Florida, has decommitted from the Colorado Buffaloes just nine days after his initial commitment. On June 16, he announced his decision to commit to the Illinois Fighting Illini instead. Originally, Alexis chose Colorado over several programs, including Pittsburgh and Iowa. He had recently visited Colorado on June 5. Following this decommitment, Colorado's 2027 recruiting class is now ranked No. 38 nationally and No. 5 in the Big 12, with 16 commitments remaining.
