Steven Nzonzi agrees to contract with Dunkerque in Ligue 2

Summary

Steven Nzonzi, the 2018 World Cup winner, has reached an agreement to join Ligue 2 side USL Dunkerque. The exact length of the contract is still undisclosed. Nzonzi, 37, became a free agent following the conclusion of his term at Stoke City this summer, where he made thirty appearances in the Championship last season. His move marks a return to French football, as his last involvement with a French club was during his loan at Stade Rennais from AS Roma in the 2020-2021 season. Dunkerque will be Nzonzi's first team in Ligue 2 since his professional debut with Amiens SC between 2008 and 2009.
