Streaming platform Victory+ ceases operations after missing payments

The sports streaming service Victory+ has dissolved following a series of missed payments to leagues and teams. Parent company A Parent Media Co terminated all operations and let go of its staff on Tuesday. The platform previously held broadcasting rights for several organizations, including the Minnesota Lynx, Atlanta Dream, NHL teams, and the NWSL. Cracks in the service appeared earlier this summer when the NWSL, Anaheim Ducks, and Texas Rangers terminated their partnerships citing financial nonpayment. While the WNBA season is currently on hiatus for the World Cup, the sudden collapse leaves several upcoming Lynx and Dream games without a confirmed broadcast home. The Dallas Stars, who maintained an equity stake in the streamer, have shifted their upcoming NHL season games to Amazon Prime Video. Affected teams and leagues have yet to confirm alternative broadcast arrangements for viewers.
