Sturgis prepares for road matchup against undefeated Edwardsburg in week three

High school football teams across the region head into the third week of the season this Friday. Sturgis, coming off a victory against Battle Creek Pennfield, faces an undefeated Edwardsburg team. The Eddies have opened their campaign with two high-scoring wins over McBain and Jimtown. Sturgis coach Chance Stewart emphasized the importance of defensive discipline to counter the Edwardsburg run game. Elsewhere, Marcellus continues its 8-player season with an away game at Bridgman following a win against Martin. All local games are scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
