SuperMotocross League and AUSX form SMX Next Australia development program

The SuperMotocross League has entered a partnership with AUSX to launch SMX Next Australia, the first regional expansion of its official rider development program. This initiative aims to identify and support emerging talent in Australia and New Zealand, regions with a history of producing elite racers including Hunter Lawrence, Cole Davies, and Chad Reed. The program unifies existing development structures such as the SMX Next Supercross program, Moto Combines, and the SMX World All-Stars. The 2026 AUSX Supercross Championship season opens on October 3 in Townsville, Queensland, with subsequent events scheduled across Australia and New Zealand through late November. Competitors for the upcoming season include three-time WMX champion Lachlan Turner. Program officials stated the initiative is designed to build participation and provide a formal pathway for athletes pursuing professional goals in the sport.
