Surgeon Samuel Antuna reports Marc Marquez faces permanent right arm limitations

Surgeon Samuel Antuna states Marc Marquez will never regain full function in his right arm following seven surgical procedures since 2020. The MotoGP rider recently shared images revealing significant physical changes to his shoulder and arm area, which Antuna describes as the result of repeated muscular manipulation and repositioning. Despite being atrophied and limited in strength, Marquez continues to compete in the 2026 MotoGP season. Antuna notes that Marquez effectively rides with the equivalent of one and a half arms by adapting his technique to compensate for his clinical shortcomings. After missing the final four races of the 2025 season due to a shoulder dislocation in the Indonesian Grand Prix, the 33-year-old remains active but reports discomfort during right-hand turns. Marquez currently plans to manage his physical condition carefully through the remainder of the season in pursuit of his 10th championship title.
