Sussex signs all-rounder Evison from Kent on loan

Sussex has signed all-rounder Joey Evison from Kent on a loan deal for the rest of the County Championship season, which will become permanent on October 1. Evison, 24, is expected to contribute to Sussex's final five matches, starting Thursday against Somerset at Hove. Previously, Evison had short stints at Leicestershire, where he recorded 55 runs in a match against Yorkshire. Kent's director of cricket, Simon Cook, noted this move allows Evison to gain first-team cricket opportunities as the Kent squad is fit heading into the final matches of the season.
