SV Darmstadt 98 signs midfielder Marco Richter on a free transfer

SV Darmstadt 98 confirmed the signing of Marco Richter following his departure from FSV Mainz 05. The midfielder joins the club on a free transfer after his contract with Mainz was terminated. Richter previously spent the last season on loan with Darmstadt, where he played 32 competitive matches and registered twelve goal involvements. Sporting director Paul Fernie noted that the club stayed in contact with the player after his initial loan spell concluded and initiated negotiations earlier this week. The veteran midfielder has accumulated 97 Bundesliga appearances throughout his career, including stints at Hertha BSC and Augsburg. He now returns to the fold at Darmstadt to bolster the squad for the remainder of the campaign.
