What they're saying

AEW Dynamite airs tonight (June 10) with a live Summer Blockbuster show from the Andrew J. Brady Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. This is the third episode of Dynamite during the five week build to Forbidden Door, which takes place on June 28. AEW is bringing in another wrestling God who can beat Mercedes Mone The Owen Hart Foundation tournaments continue tonight at Summer Blockbuster, with Swerve Strickland vs. Brody King booked on the men’s side, and Sareee vs. Skye Blue on the women’s side. Swerve seems like a fairly obvious winner in the men’s match, even though he already beat King (Fuck ICE) on the AEW Revolution pay-per-view back in March. That’s because the winner of this match faces Will Ospreay in the final match of the tournament at Forbidden Door, and the self-proclaimed Most Dangerous Man in AEW makes for a much more interesting opponent against the Aerial Assassin. The women’s bracket was bizarre right from the time of its announcement, as Tony Khan left out former AEW world champions like Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida in favor of women who have never won a match in AEW, like Hazuki, Persephone, and Sareee (fka Sarray in NXT). The woman in the tournament with the longest track record of being pushed in AEW, Willow Nightingale, then went down to injury, so Tony Khan pressed the emergency button to bring in Mercedes Mone to take her place. The CEO now stands out as the overwhelming favorite to win the tournament and challenge for the AEW women’s world championship in Wembley Stadium at All In. However, The CEO does have a wrestling god chasing her down for that coveted spot. With that in mind, The Sun God of the Pro Wrestling World gets her chance to debut in AEW tonight against Skye Blue and show the fan base why there is always so much hype surrounding her wherever she goes. #AEWDynamite: Summer Blockbuster 8/7c, TBS & HBO Max Tomorrow!#OwenCup Women’s Quarterfinal@SkyeByee vs @Sareee_Official The Sun God of the Pro Wrestling World, Sareee, makes her AEW debut vs Triangle of Madness’ Skye Blue in the Owen, TOMORROW! pic.twitter.com/lXcQoxvSbo — All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) June 9, 2026 It’s worth noting that Sareee has not wrestled in roughly one month due to a neck issue, and it’s not clear how ready she is to return to the ring. Per F4WOnline, Sareee told Tokyo Sports that her neck is not in “perfect shape” for this match, but her tag team partner Takumi will be on hand in case she needs a replacement. The winner of this match advances to face ROH’s Forever Champion Athena in the next round, so one way or another there will be a current god or fallen goddess waiting for Mercedes in the finals, after she presumably beats Hazuki in round two. Will Sareee advance in The Owen and prove that Kenny Omega isn’t the only god of pro wrestling in AEW? Or will she be immediately eliminated by Thekla’s mid-card henchwoman Skye Blue? Tune into AEW’s Summer Blockbuster tonight to find out. The rest of the card AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley defends his title tonight in his hometown against Shane Taylor of Shane Taylor Promotions. Taylor may be big and bad, but he never wins singles matches in AEW unless his opponent is a jobber. Moxley isn’t a jobber the last time I checked, so STP better plan for a post-match attack if they want to get the better of the Death Riders tonight. Young Bucks vs. The Dogs is also scheduled for Summer Blockbuster. David Finlay and Clark Connors made quite a statement by recently taking out AEW World Tag Team Champions Christian Cage & Adam Copeland, and ruining their 5 second pose. It will be hard to deny they deserve a title match if they find a way to beat Matt and Nick Jackson tonight. However, The Dogs’ bigger priority tonight might be avoiding the STD concoction that Juice Robinson wants to give them so badly. Orange Cassidy vs. Andrade El Idolo is booked at Summer Blockbuster. If Tony Khan is building up Andrade for a world title match at Grand Slam Mexico in early August, then he probably needs to win matches like this one. Finally, AEW is also giving us Mark Briscoe vs. PAC at Summer Blockbuster. This may very well be the match of the night, with the usual “if it gets enough time” caveat. AEW World Champion MJF has an injured knee and is ducking Briscoe. His argument for why Mark doesn’t deserve a title match will be stronger if Briscoe loses this match. Other stuff to keep an eye on – There will be a Survival of the Fittest match on the July 1 episode of Dynamite to crown a new TBS champion. It looks like some of the women involved include Zayda Steel, Harley Cameron, Hikaru Shida, Queen Aminata, Mina Shirakawa, Kris Statlander, and Julia Hart. When will AEW announce a schedule for the six qualifying matches in June? – Not only did Tommaso Ciampa steal Chris Jericho’s 1,004 list gimmick, but now he’s starting to steal the legend’s finishing moves. Will Ciampa get the chance to do the Walls of Jericho on the man himself tonight? – AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla isn’t afraid of any dumb bitches from Stardom who might be coming for her title at Forbidden Door. In fact, she plans to kill off the entire promotion. Will someone from Stardom show up at Summer Blockbuster to stop Thekla from disrespecting their brand any further? – Darby Allin is getting married the day before Forbidden Door. Will his time off extend until then, or is he coming back ASAP to get revenge on TNT Champion Kevin Knight in lieu of a honeymoon? – Will AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions Divine Dominion go back to doing their 5-minute challenge gimmick after removing the TayJay-sized thorn from their side on Collision? – Does it matter that Don Callis has 397 members in his family if none of them can win the AEW International championship back from Konosuke Takeshita? Will Kazuchika Okada get his rematch against The Alpha at Forbidden Door? – Which people in AEW do the Hurt Syndicate plan to hurt next after winning at Stadium Stampede? – What is Tony Khan’s plan for Ricochet at Forbidden Door? – What message does Mercedes Mone have for the AEW locker room and fans after her successful return last week? – Where the f*** is Keith Lee? His potential comeback is in our Rumor Roundup, of course. What will you be looking for on Dynamite?
