Swindon Town signs midfielder Danny Butterworth to five-month contract

Swindon Town has signed 26-year-old midfielder Danny Butterworth to a short-term deal that runs until February 2027. Butterworth, a former Blackburn Rovers player, previously joined the club in August 2024 and recorded 40 appearances with six goals and two assists during that tenure. He began the 2025-2026 season with 11 appearances before a hamstring injury forced him to miss the remainder of the campaign. The midfielder underwent a 10-month rehabilitation process before being invited to train with the squad during the most recent pre-season.
