Syracuse basketball sees coaching change with Gerry McNamara's appointment
Summary

Syracuse has named Gerry McNamara as its new basketball head coach following Adrian Autry's departure after one season. Autry's tenure ended amid challenges related to NIL resources and program struggles. McNamara, a former Syracuse player, is tasked with revitalizing the program after a decade of decline. His familiarity with the school's basketball culture and recent success at Siena, where he led a tournament-competitive team, adds an interesting dynamic. McNamara's coaching style may differ from the previous 2-3 zone strategy, focusing more on man-to-man defense.
