Syracuse football records historic win against New Hampshire

Syracuse opened the 2026 season with a 66-3 victory over New Hampshire at the JMA Wireless Dome on Saturday. The 63-point margin represents the second-largest win in a home opener in the history of the program, trailing only a 77-0 result against Hobart in 1929. Quarterback Steve Angeli contributed three touchdowns to the effort, while the defense added five sacks and a touchdown of its own. The Orange gained more than 200 yards on the ground during the lopsided contest. This victory marks the beginning of the campaign for Syracuse as the team prepares for its first Atlantic Coast Conference game. The squad now turns its attention to a matchup with the California Golden Bears scheduled for next Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
