Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports has placed Syracuse at seventh in his ACC preseason power rankings as they prepare for the 2026-27 season. Duke leads the rankings, followed by Virginia and Louisville. Syracuse's roster will see major changes, with only two returning players from last season. New head coach Gerry McNamara will debut with a lineup projected to include transfers Gavin Doty and Aidan Tobiason among others. The Orange will open their season against New Haven on November 2.
