Tampa Bay Buccaneers claim cornerback Kevin Knowles off NFL waivers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers claimed cornerback Kevin Knowles off waivers after the Kansas City Chiefs released him during final roster cuts. Knowles earned a spot on the Chiefs’ initial 53-man roster on Sunday but was waived to accommodate the arrival of defensive tackle Bryson Eason and linebacker Jack Pyburn. During the 2025 season, Knowles appeared in 13 games for Kansas City, logging 231 special teams snaps and 82 snaps on defense while recording 15 tackles and two passes defensed. The Buccaneers pursued the second-year cornerback to bolster depth at the position. Kansas City experienced significant roster turnover this week, also parting ways with running back Emari Demercado, who was claimed by the Dallas Cowboys, and offensive tackle Esa Pole, who joined the Washington Commanders. The Chiefs added offensive tackles Diego Pounds and Joshua Ezeudu through trades as part of their recent roster adjustments.
