Tampa Bay Buccaneers sign safety Silas Walters to practice squad

Summary

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers added safety Silas Walters to their practice squad on September 2, 2026. This move follows his release from the Baltimore Ravens after the roster deadline. Walters, an undrafted free agent from Miami (Ohio), competed in a crowded Ravens secondary during training camp and recorded seven solo tackles, one interception, and one pass breakup during the preseason. His interception in a 13-3 preseason win over the Minnesota Vikings served as a notable highlight on his game tape. To create a roster spot for Walters, Tampa Bay released safety Rashad Wisdom. Wisdom had appeared in three games for the team during the 2025 season. Walters will now work with the Buccaneers' scout team and provide depth in the secondary while potentially contributing on special teams.
