Tampa Spartans advance to NCAA Division II semifinals with 2-1 victory

The University of Tampa defeated Point Loma 2-1 in the second round of the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship on June 1 in Cary, North Carolina. The Spartans capitalized on a throwing error by the Point Loma shortstop to rally back in the eighth inning. A sacrifice bunt by Jordan Evans and an RBI single by Brayden Woodburn secured the victory. Tampa pitcher B.J. Bailey performed strongly, allowing only four hits before clinching the win.
