Tarik Skubal dominates as Tigers defeat Royals 2-1

Summary

Tarik Skubal led the Detroit Tigers to a 2-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals on July 24. Skubal struck out 12 batters and pitched 7⅓ innings, contributing to the Tigers' recent success, marking their 12th win in 16 games. The Tigers, now 50-54, are within six games of the first place in the American League Central and four games of a wild card spot. Skubal's performance raises questions about his future with the team as the trade deadline approaches on August 3.
