Taylor Lewan identifies Rams defensive line as Super Bowl contender

Former NFL offensive tackle Taylor Lewan expects the pairing of Aaron Donald and Myles Garrett to strengthen the Los Angeles Rams front seven. Garrett joined the Rams in a trade with the Cleveland Browns in June, while Donald returned from retirement on August 30. Although Donald will not play in the season opener against the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne, Lewan anticipates the duo will force opponents to adjust their offensive blocking schemes throughout the 2026 season. The Rams roster also features reigning NFL MVP Matthew Stafford along with offensive targets Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, Kyren Williams, and Blake Corum. Lewan suggested the defensive front could allow the secondary to play with more aggression by accelerating the pressure on opposing quarterbacks. The Rams aim to navigate a competitive NFC West division that includes the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks.
