Team Trans players gather at Warrior Arena for annual hockey friendlies

Team Trans gathered at the Boston Bruins’ practice facility at Warrior Arena in August to compete in a series of recreational hockey friendlies against Boston Pride. The organization, which began as a small group in 2019, fielded 41 athletes across three skill divisions for the event. The NHL contributed $10,000 for travel and lodging costs, while the Bruins provided ice time. During the novice-level match, Team Trans trailed Boston Pride before ultimately concluding the game with a 3-2 result. These matches serve as an annual opportunity for transgender hockey players from across the country to participate in organized play. Participants noted that the gathering functions primarily as a space for competition and community rather than a venue for addressing external policy debates.
