Teammate defends reputation of late Washington safety Sean Taylor

Former Washington Redskins teammate Santana Moss discusses the legacy of safety Sean Taylor in a documentary episode airing August 31. Taylor, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, died in November 2007 after being shot during a home invasion in Palmetto Bay, Florida. Intruders broke into his home mistakenly believing he was away at a football game. Following his death, public and media narratives frequently focused on prior off-field incidents, a characterization Moss says unfairly tainted the athlete's reputation. Taylor's number 21 jersey was later retired by the franchise, and he was inducted into the team's Ring of Fame in 2021.
