The offer was announced by Thomas, who is ranked as the No. 12 athlete in the 2028 class and the No. 10 player in Maryland, according to 247Sports. Thomas previously received his first scholarship offer from Maryland on March 10 and has since garnered attention from several other schools, including Virginia Tech, Florida, and Michigan State. As of now, Tennessee has not secured any commitments for its 2028 recruiting class but has 19 commitments for the 2027 class.
