Tennessee Titans add three players and sign safety Terrell Burgess

The Tennessee Titans claimed linebacker Owen Pappoe, defensive back Melvin Smith, and defensive tackle Nazir Stackhouse off waivers on August 31, 2026. The franchise also reached an agreement to sign veteran safety Terrell Burgess to the active roster. To accommodate these transactions, the organization waived linebacker Mohamoud Diabate. Pappoe arrives from the Arizona Cardinals, where he appeared in 17 games last season. Smith previously spent time on the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad after entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2025. Stackhouse, a former Georgia standout, originally signed with the Green Bay Packers. The Titans must finalize additional roster moves to reach the league-mandated 53-man limit.
