"Teofimo Lopez spoke to some boxing media ahead of his upcoming title fight against Rolly Romero and fielded some questions about a few topics, including a failed fight between Devin Haney vs Keyshawn Davis, his own fight against Rolly, and more. Check out some of what he had to say below. On Keyshawn Davis turning down Devin Haney fight “I mean, it is confusing. We can only express from our point of view, a third [party] point of view but I think that maybe it’s just something he’s dealing with Top Rank. That could possibly be the problem right there. I’ve had my issues with Top Rank in the past, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the case. But, he’s back — so to speak — training, so we’ll see what happens.” On Rolly saying he loaned him $5K when he was down “I lent him $20K. The $15k was for like a Rolex that he had apparently, allegedly, had took from somebody else. And then, yeah, I had like paid it for his sister at one point…But I know I paid him $15k plus $5K.” On fighting a good friend of his in Rolly “Not a good friend, man. I think a good friend is one that doesn’t do it. Yeah, he took the fight, he was the champ, he is the champ. He didn’t need to take the fight, he took the fight for his own reasons. So, we’ll settle the score after.”
"Teofimo Lopez says he’s all business heading into fight with Rolly Romero.
