Terence Crawford criticizes Jaron 'Boots' Ennis on social media

Terence Crawford just appeared on Ring Champs and naturally, the first order of business was to discuss his ongoing friction with Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis. Crawford has maintained that he’s a happily retired fighter, but that hasn’t stopped him from consistently prodding Boots and feigning his intention to fight him on social media. Recently, Crawford would publicly ask Boots if he would agree to fight him next if he returned to boxing, and when Boots said he absolutely would, Crawford essentially laughed it off as proof that Boots is willing to do anything but fight Vergil Ortiz, suggesting he’s ducking the real fights to be made at 154. Here’s some of what he had to say when asked about all his recent interactions with Boots. Crawford on teasing Boots about making a fight happen on social media “I’m not motivated to do anything. I’m chilling. I told everybody I’m retired. It wasn’t no call out. It was just a point to prove that one individual [Boots] is ducking another individual [Vergil]. When you ask him [about] Vergil — he going after champions and he think Josh Kelly is the most skillful fighter at 154, which is a lie. “You trying to big up this guy because you about to fight him. And I understand, I give Josh Kelly credit and everything else, but David Avanesyan knocked him out, stopped him. And I knocked him out cold. Then you come and you stop him and now you saying ‘this guy is the best guy in the division?’ That’s crazy. We all know that’s a lie, but you feeding that to [the masses] who really don’t know too much about nothing because they just a Boots fan. I’m a fan, too. But at the same time I’m going to call a spade a spade. “I just made a valid point that you don’t really want to fight these dudes that you say ‘nah, I’m not worried about them’ is ‘I’m belt [hunting].‘ If there was any time in my career that that happened, it would be always talked about. And nobody can ever say I ever did anything like that. They can never say I ducked any challenge in my life.”
