Terrion Arnold remains on commissioner’s exempt list during Seattle Seahawks contract

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Terrion Arnold is currently on the Commissioner’s Exempt List while facing eight felony charges. Although Arnold is under a one-year contract for the league minimum of $1,075,000, his status on the exempt list entitles him to his full salary while he is prohibited from participating in team activities. Because the Commissioner’s Exempt List does not count toward the calculation of accrued seasons under NFL CBA rules, his potential free agency status for 2027 remains contingent on how much of the current season he is eligible to play. If he remains on the list through the season, he would become an exclusive rights free agent in the offseason. If he is cleared and returns to the field for enough games to earn an accrued season, the team could potentially retain his services as a restricted free agent.
