Texans acquire Kayshon Boutte from Patriots following Jayden Higgins injury

The Houston Texans traded safety Jaylen Reed to the New England Patriots in exchange for wide receiver Kayshon Boutte. General manager Nick Caserio confirmed the deal on Tuesday, noting the move was prompted by an injury to receiver Jayden Higgins. Houston held significant depth at the safety position and sought to fill the vacancy left by Higgins, who totaled over 500 receiving yards and six touchdowns last season. Boutte posted similar statistics during his three-year tenure in New England and previously recorded 16 receptions for 285 yards and two touchdowns against the Buffalo Bills. The Texans open their regular season at home against Buffalo on Sept. 13.
