The Houston Texans, led by head coach DeMeco Ryans, have started their roster cuts ahead of the 53-man deadline. Among the initial players released are quarterback Brett Rypien and rookie Stephen Hall. Rypien, who joined the Texans after Graham Mertz's ACL injury, struggled in his performance. Several other players, including linebacker Caleb Johnson, are under consideration for practice squad opportunities.
