Texans explore signing Devean Deal amid Clowney absence

Summary

The Houston Texans are considering former Seahawks defensive end Devean Deal as they deal with injuries in their roster. Jadeveon Clowney missed practice as the team worked out Deal, an undrafted free agent from TCU noted for 176 total tackles and 13.0 sacks in college. The Texans have several players absent, and while they signed linebacker Caleb Johnson, they continue to look for additional pass rushing options. Deal did not sign with the team yet, but his potential availability remains on the radar as the preseason finale approaches.
