Texans release linebacker Sione Takitaki after brief tenure with team

The Houston Texans have released linebacker Sione Takitaki after just 11 days with the team. Takitaki was signed to address injuries at the position but was himself unavailable due to a Grade 1 hamstring strain. Head coach DeMeco Ryans has managed to maintain the top of the depth chart but has seen further attrition after losing E.J. Speed to injury. Takitaki must complete a three-week wait from the injury settlement date before he can attempt to sign with Houston again.
