Texans sign kicker Chris Freeman, resting Ka'imi Fairbairn for preseason game

The Houston Texans have signed undrafted free agent kicker Chris Freeman and will rest starter Ka'imi Fairbairn during their game against the Los Angeles Chargers on August 13. Fairbairn, who signed a two-year, $13 million contract in the offseason, helped the Texans secure a successful previous season. Freeman, having made 88.5 percent of his field goals at UConn last season, is expected to kick during the game and may have the opportunity to showcase his skills for other teams. The game starts at 7 p.m. at Reliant Stadium and will be broadcast locally on ABC.
