Texans WR Sterling Shepard is top candidate for roster cut, CBS Sports says

Summary

Sterling Shepard of the Houston Texans has emerged as a leading candidate for release as the team's roster cuts approach. CBS Sports highlighted Shepard as at risk due to recent additions to the receiving corps, particularly the trade for Kayshon Boutte. Despite joining the Texans to provide depth after an injury to Jayden Higgins, Shepard faces competition from other receivers like Nico Collins and Tank Dell. His uncertain role and recent lack of playtime in the preseason highlight his precarious position on the roster. The final roster decisions will be made soon, potentially impacting Shepard's NFL career.
