Texas A&M announces statue unveiling for coach R.C. Slocum at Kyle Field

Texas A&M will unveil a statue of former head coach R.C. Slocum outside Kyle Field at 2 p.m. on Sept. 4, the day before the Aggies' season opener. The statue, sculpted by Steven Whyte, honors Slocum's legacy during his 30 years with the program, including 14 seasons as head coach from 1989 to 2002. He recorded a 123–47–2 record, winning four conference titles and achieving ten ranked finishes. Slocum will be the only coach at A&M honored with a statue, joining two former players already recognized.
