Texas A&M freshman running backs earn larger roles after opening win

Texas A&M freshman running backs KJ Edwards and Carsyn Baker are set for increased workloads following their debuts in a 50-0 win over Missouri State. Edwards recorded 44 yards on five carries while Baker finished with 52 yards on seven carries during the season opener. Head coach Mike Elko indicated that both players will receive more meaningful repetitions moving forward despite the presence of junior Rueben Owens and sophomore Jamarion Morrow. The Aggies' offense overcame a slow start to total 236 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the second half. Quarterback Marcel Reed contributed 233 passing yards and two touchdowns to the victory. Texas A&M hosts Arizona State this Saturday at 11 a.m.
