Texas and Georgia face off in College World Series opener Saturday

The No. 6 Texas Longhorns and No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs will meet in the College World Series opener on Saturday at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, with the first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m. Central on ESPN. Georgia advanced by sweeping the Athens Regional and defeating No. 14 Mississippi State in two high-scoring games. Texas also swept its regional and won twice against Oregon to earn its place in the tournament. This match marks the first encounter between these programs since Texas swept Georgia in a three-game series last season in Austin.
