Texas climbs to number one in latest coaches poll rankings

Texas ascended to the top spot in the AFCA Coaches Poll following a 24-23 victory over Ohio State. The Longhorns overcame a 20-point fourth-quarter deficit to secure the win, leading to a shift at the top of the rankings. Ohio State dropped to sixth place after the result, marking the team's third consecutive loss against Power Four opponents. Elsewhere, Oregon fell 12 spots to number 18 following a loss to Oklahoma State, while Oklahoma dropped to 21st after falling to Michigan. Georgia remains second in the poll, followed by Notre Dame, Indiana, and Miami. Texas currently holds 42 first-place votes, while Georgia has 15 and Indiana has 10.
