Texas college football teams announce 2026 season openers

All 13 FBS programs in Texas are set to kick off their 2026 seasons in early September. Texas Longhorns will face Texas State in Austin on September 5. Texas A&M Aggies host Missouri State on the same day, while TCU Horned Frogs will start their season against North Carolina in Dublin, Ireland on August 29. Other matchups include Baylor versus Auburn in Atlanta and SMU against Florida State in Tallahassee.
