Texas football rises in recruiting rankings after strong commitments

Texas Longhorns football made significant strides in team recruiting rankings following an impressive June and early July. The program secured 12 commitments in June, with 11 from the 2027 class, propelling them to No. 5 in Rivals/On3 rankings and No. 4 in 247sports rankings. Key additions include five-star defensive back John Meredith III and offensive lineman Ismael Camara, who committed on July 4. Currently, Texas has 22 total commits for the 2027 class, which includes three five-stars and 12 four-stars. However, the Longhorns may face a setback if five-star receiver Easton Royal flips his commitment to LSU before the end of July.
