Texas linebacker Rasheem Biles earns SEC co-defensive player of the week honors

Texas linebacker Rasheem Biles was named Southeastern Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Monday following his debut performance against Texas State. In his first game for the Longhorns, Biles recorded five tackles, a half tackle for loss, one forced fumble, and an interception. His defensive contributions helped Texas limit Texas State to 349 yards of total offense in the victory. The linebacker joined the program via the transfer portal after playing at Pittsburgh, where he recorded 183 total tackles during his tenure. Texas coaches expect Biles to remain a primary fixture of the defense as the team prepares for upcoming matchups.
