Texas Longhorns ranked No. 7 as season opens under Sean Miller

The Texas Longhorns basketball team is ranked No. 7 in the preseason AP Top 25 as they prepare for the 2026-27 season under coach Sean Miller. Following a Sweet 16 run last year, the Longhorns aim for a deep NCAA Tournament journey, buoyed by an incoming class that includes several prominent transfers. Miller has signed key players like Isaiah Johnson and David Punch to strengthen the roster, while retaining breakout star Matas Vokietaitis. The Longhorns will open the season with a challenging game against Duke in Charlotte, marking a crucial test for the new lineup and Miller's coaching strategy.
