Outfielder Zoey Abdullah has committed to the Texas Longhorns softball team, making her the third pledge for the 2028 recruiting class. Abdullah is regarded as the 61st-best player in her class according to Rivals. She joins infielder Michaela Landers, the top recruit in the class, and pitcher Lauren Schellhammer. Abdullah's sister, Annie, currently plays for Texas. The Longhorns have won back-to-back national championships and will start fall practice on October 3, 2026, against Murray State.
